The senators have officially announced the updated 2D logo but you are still using the 3D in your blog. Are you just slow on the update or are you protesting the return to the 2D? |

Great takes as always Michael! I really worry about Dorion taking Sanderson at 5 - LD is the only real position of strength Ottawa has, hoping you're reading the tea leaves right with Raymond, but Dorion has proved unpredictable in the past. It will be an interesting draft. |

Agree 100% - Byfield/Stutzle And then Raymond (or Rossi if Detroit takes Raymond). Don’t take a d-man that early in a forward rich draft. Take a chance on one with #28 or in the second round if need be.
I also don't like the Sens logo (any of them - except the “O”), wish it was something a little More menacing

When is the next season to start?
Do you think this huge downtime for the Sens is going to hurt their progression? |

No way. LAK needs a high end prospect like Byfield or Stutzle.
However, if OTT traded 3, 28 and 33 for LAK's 2 and 35? That would get it done if LAK favors Stutzle or is undecided between the two. |

Rossi is now weighing in at 190 pounds on a 5'9" frame. He is a incredibly strong on his skates.
He is still my best hope for #5.

I have been wondering this as well. Only 6 teams couldn't reconvene for the joke of a play-in series. This is missed opportunities getting ice time, playing and being with the team, and conforming to a coaching system. I was actually golfing behind Connor Brown in the Muskokas while the "play-in" tournament was happening. Just seems weird these teams were just tossed to the side.
If the season starts in December or January, that is quite a long lull for young players. Who knows the long term impact. There have been long lulls in the NHL before with the lockout, but everyone was in the same boat. |

Although the Sens may not have great passion for picking another skilled Dman. Multiple teams would probably covet Drysdale and Sanderson more strongly than the Sens.
Maybe the Sens trade down a pick or two and still get their guy.
Dorion knows exactly who he wants, he might have a chance to add something else. |

That’s totally not worth it to move up one spot, especially when it’s not remotely clear who the better player is. |

That's clear objectively, and if I'm OTT then I wouldn't do it.
But I responded to the user who posted "5, 28 and 52 to take Byfield?" That proposal assumes OTT favors Byfield. If I'm LAK and OTT was hungry for the assurance of selecting Byfield, then I'm going to ask for 3 and 28 for 2. Otherwise, why move at all? |

It’s worth it to move from 5 to 2 (noting that LA would almost surely reject the deal). But paying an extra 1st rd pick to simply move from 3 to 2 (when the players are soooooo close) doesn’t seem worth it, and Ottawa looks insanely foolish if they pick wrong.
As it stands now, all the pressure is on LA to make the right pick, and Sens just sit back and take whoever they don’t. |

Yes, the draft picking is still a mystery to me. Nyr were able to play hockey and the 1st pick. Im not unhappy with the Sens picking ordet but Detroit,La Ott , 1 of them should have received #1.
It could be up to 9 months or more before a young Sens team will see meaningful games. Thats hard on developement... vice versa older players on other teams, may be the end of their career.
